The Farm
The Poggio Alloro farm, situated in the hills of San Gimignano, has been owned by Umberto, Amico
and Bernardo Fioroni, since 1971, who came here as sharecroppers from the Marches in 1955.
Skilled workers and lovers of the land for generations, they succeeded in applying their knowledge
and devoting all their efforts to the cultivation of the farm’s 100 hectares of land.
This land is now occupied by vineyards and olive groves, cereal crops and pastures for the
farm’s animals, and the products made are still characterised by all the quality of days gone by.
Special attention is paid to the care of the vineyards and the knowledge gained over the years with
regard to vinifying and ageing wines led the brothers, in 1989, to try something new.
This was the year in which they began bottling and selling their wine.
The products
The genuine quality of the wines originates in the vineyards, with severe pruning,
low yields, natural fertilising and the use of organic fertilisers, fully respecting
the environment and organic farming systems.
Meticulous selection of the grapes takes
place during the harvest, which is performed exclusively by hand,
guaranteeing that the wine possesses unique characteristics.
Modern technology is used in the cellar,
combined with skill and experience in a perfect
concoction of modernity and tradition.
Today, the production of bottled wines has
achieved considerable results in terms of
quality and the type of wines, completing the journey on which the three brothers set out.
